With the passage of the Educational (Mammoth)Act in 1963 and its recent implementation, Dutch high schools are faced with a series of problems of a counseling nature which now seem to demand immediate attention. One of these is theProblem of transition from secondary to highereducation. With students now having a widerchoice in their selection of secondary programsand more choice of coursc content within theirchosen program, the need arises to counsel them^ith respect to these choiees and especially withfespect to further education. With this problemin mind, the Commissie voor Inpassing van"Voortgezette Opleidingen of the University ofUtrecht, began an invcstigation into the whole^rea of transition from secondary to highereducation.
